Ravenswood Catholic Young Adults (RCYA) invites all younger adults to participate in a Lenten prayer group hosted by local parishes or join in bowling fun at Lincoln Square Lanes. See details below or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
INTERESTED IN THE CATHOLIC FAITH? CHECK OUT RCIA! The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith. It is designed for those who have never been baptized or baptized with little or no affiliation or religious training in the Catholic faith.
Weekly sessions, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, start in October and continue through to the Easter Vigil, Saturday, March 30. Please see the end of this post for a schedule of topics.
Besides Harvest Jam, our fall homecoming festival, Queen of Angels offers a few other social events this September, including our Men's Club Golf Outing and Dinner and a Ravenswood Catholic Young Adults (RCYA) pizza social.
THEOLOGY ON TAP IS BACK! Ravenswood Catholic Young Adults (RCYA) are teaming up with two parishes this year to host Theology on Tap. This is a free event for those in their 20s and 30s, single or married. It is an exciting speaker series that includes discussion, food and fellowship. This year we are partnering with St. Gregory the Great and St. Andrew to offer more Theology on Tap on two separate weeknights. Food and drink will be provided.
Parishioners of all ages can join with others in the work of serving our brothers and sisters in need through our parish conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Hunger Walk at Soldier Field benefitting local food pantries, a Friends of the Poor 5k Run/Walk through Lincoln Park, and outreach to immigrants to this county.
This Easter season, all are invited to participate in great events with the Queen of Angels family. Join us at a bowling party for adults, a 1980's-themed dance, a free vocal concert and a seminar about asthma. It's also nomination and election time for our school advisory boards.
In this Year of Teens and Young Adults, we continue to recognize and celebrate the gifts of young Catholics while calling them to greater participation in the life of the parish. Teen parishioners prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation, receive honors from their Catholic high schools, and lead their peers on Kairos retreats. Young adults are invited to take part in a Super Bowl Party at neighboring St. Benedict Parish.
Summertime may bring about a slower pace of life for many of our parishioners, but there are a number of summer events and activities going strong through the summer at Queen of Angels. Reunions for school alumni and former Choristers, a summer choir for high school and college youth, a toiletries drive for the homeless and Theology on Tap faith discussion events for adults are among the programs available during the summer months.
