Membership: Parishioners to help at the Eucharist according to their desire and the guidelines of the Church.

Liturgy Planners- Parish Wide-- English and Spanish

Description of group: Combined liturgical planners from both the English and Spanish language planning teams to prepare bilingual Parish celebrations, particularly Holy Week and other Parish feasts..
Membership: Parishioner volunteers with skills—or wishing to develop skills—in liturgy, planning, music, writing, art and environment.

How often group meets: As needed.

Eucharistic Ministers of Care to the Sick - English and Spanish

The Ministers of Care is a group of parishioners who visit and bring the Eucharist to fellow parishioners who are homebound. They also work with neighboring parishes to make Sunday morning communion visits at Swedish Covenant hospital. Membership is open to lay volunteers, trained in bringing communion to the sick and visiting them with kindness and friendship.

The group meets quarterly on Saturday mornings from 9:30 AM – Noon in Upper Voss/Parish Center. We make weekly visits to homes and monthly visits to the hospital.

MINISTERIO EUCARISTICO DE CUIDADO A ENFERMOS-INGLES Y ESPAÑOL

Descripción del grupo: Feligreses que visitan a los enfermos y le llevan la Eucaristía a los que están confinados en sus casas. También trabajan con otras parroquias para llevar la comunión a pacientes del Hospital Swedish Covenant los domingos en la mañana.
Membresía: Voluntarios feligreses, entrenados para llevar la comunión a los enfermos y visitarlos mostrando bondad y amistad.

Cuán frecuente se reúne el grupo: Reuniones trimestrales los sábados en las mañanas a las 9:30 AM – Mediodía. Visitas semanales a las casas y visitas mensuales a los hospitales.

Nicodemus Ministry

Description of group: Named after one of the two men who buried Jesus, this ministry represents the Parish as it escorts the deceased and the family to the cemetery and there leads the Prayers of Final Commendation.

Membership: Adult parishioners, with some mornings free, who wish to lead prayer and give support.

How often group meets: As needed in Upper Voss/Parish Center.

Description of group: Weekly gathering of adult Spanish-speaking parishioners to study the Scripture through learning, discussion, prayer and song.

Membership: Adult parishioners.

Altar Servers- English

Description of group: Altar servers, male and female, sixth grade through high school, assist the priest and deacon at the altar, no matter what school they attend.

Membership: Boys and girls, sixth grade and older, no matter what school they attend.

Sacristans

Description of group: Help by preparing the altar and sanctuary before and after weekend Masses, caring for the liturgical vessels and laundering smaller liturgical linens.

Membership: Parishioners--individuals, friends or families--wanting to help at specific Masses or specific tasks.

How often group meets: Saturday afternoon and evening Masses in Church.

Scripture Study Groups

Adult groups meet weekly to reflect on the Scriptures under the leadership of a trained director to study the Word through discussion, prayer and fellowship.  Membership open to all adult parishioners.

The group meets as follows:
English: Indefinitely on hiatus.  Opportunities are offered through the Chicago Catholic Scripture School hosted by nearby parishes.
Spanish: Friday 7:00-9:00 PM in Lower Church.

Ushers and Greeters- English and Spanish

Description of group: Ushers and greeters, at both the English and Spanish language Masses, welcome the congregations as they enter, present necessary worship aids, gather the collection, assist at Communion and answer questions as needed.

Membership: Men and women, high school age and older, who are inviting and welcoming.

How often group meets: Weekend Masses in Church.
