Jorge Cardinal Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires in Argentina, has been elected as the 266th Bishop of Rome, our Holy Father, the Pope. He has chosen the name Francis for his new role as our spiritual leader, the Vicar of Christ. Pope Francis is the first Latin American and the first Jesuit priest to be pope. Please offer prayers for Pope Francis as he begins this holy and challenging work.
