Angels Ball, Dinner Dance, and Auction

The Angels Ball is our annual gala dinner and dance event, with silent auction, to support Queen of Angels School. Committee members and helpers plan the event, contact sponsors and donors, sell tickets, decorate, advertise and welcome attendees. This is the principal fund raiser for the school.

Membership: Central volunteer committee. Adult volunteers before and during event with marketing, communications, public relations, decoration and welcoming skills.

The group meets from September through the event in Upper Voss/Parish Center. Event is in February at an outside, ballroom location.

Boy Scouts

Cub and Boy Scouting programs of the Boy Scouts of America for boys of all ages with adult supervision and parent involvement.

Membership: Adult trained leaders. Boys of all ages according to policies of Boy Scouts of America. Parent involvement.

NIÑOS ESCUCHAS
Programa de niños escuchas de America supervisado por adultos y con la participación de padres. Incluye proyectos, premios y acampamiento de todos los programas, se involucra con eventos regionales y participa en proyectos de premiación católica.

Membresía: Líderes adultos entrenados. Niños de todas las edades de acuerdo a la política de los Niños Escuchas de América. Participación de padres. Cuan frecuente se reúne el grupo: Niños Escuchas. Lunes, 7 a 10 PM en el sótano de la iglesia. Escuchas ‘Cub’ semanalmente en casa de los líderes. Ultimo viernes del mes, 6 a 10 PM en el sótano de la iglesia. Christmas Tree Sales

Each year, Queen of Angels has a Christmas tree sale in the school parking lot. Individuals, friends and families assist in the sale, which begins on the day after Thanksgiving and runs through mid-December Christmas Tree sale which is a strong source of financial support to the ministries of the Parish.

Fall Wine Festival

The Fall wine festival takes place each November in the Guild Hall and is filled with food, wine tasting and dancing. Wine auction and purchasing to help holiday shopping along with fine raffle prizes. The evening is sponsored by the Mother’s Club. The planning group meets periodically throughout the summer, and monthly prior to event. Contact Rose Folan (773) 989-843 for more information.

Garden Society

The Garden Society is open to men, women and young people who offer their talents to plant and maintain the gardens near the rectory and church, our parish “front yard.” Membership is open to people of all ages who enjoy gardening and the beauty of our grounds. The group meets to complete seasonal outdoor tasks.

Descripción del grupo: Hombres y mujeres que ofrecen sus talentos para plantar y mantener los jardines cerca de la rectoría e iglesia, el “patio del frente” de nuestra parroquia.

Girl Scouts

Queen of Angels hosts Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scouting programs of the Girl Scouts of America for girls of all ages with adult supervision and parent involvement. Membership is open to adult trained leaders and girls of all ages according to policies of Girl Scouts of America. Parent involvement is an important part of the programs. The group meets Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.  All troops in Upper Voss/Parish Center.

Guadalupano Jovenes Ministry

JOVENES GUADALUPANOS
Un ministerio para adultos jóvenes de habla hispana de 18 hasta 30 años, camaradería social y espiritual, y crecimiento y servicio a la parroquia a través de oración, venta de comida, bailes, socialización y reuniones. Membresía: Feligreses de habla hispana y bilingues, 18 a 30 años.

Guadalupano Jovenes is a ministry to Spanish speaking young adults, 18 years of age through 30, for social and spiritual fellowship and growth and service to the Parish. Membership is open to Spanish or bilingual parishioners, ages 18 through 30. The group meets often after the 12:30 PM Spanish language Mass in Lower Church.

COMITE GUADALUPANO
En septiembre del año 2000, un grupo de personas se organizaron para celebrarle a la Virgen de Guadalupe en su día. Como solo tenían tres meses para ello, decidieron trabajar duro para lograrlo y gracias a Dios y a todas las personas que de una u otra manera los ayudaron, su sueño se les hizo realidad. Se llego el día tan esperado y celebraron con gran jubilo. Como vieron que dio resultado siguieron trabajando: vendiendo comida, organizando bailes y rifas. En el año 2001, viendo las necesidades de la iglesia decidieron también ayudarla; lo primero que hicieron fue comprar mesas y sillas nuevas para el sótano con las ganancias obtenidas. Hasta la fecha, le siguen celebrando a la Virgen su fiesta y ayudando a la iglesia. Su meta es dar a conocer a los jóvenes y a todos aquellos mexicanos y no mexicanos el mensaje que la Virgen nos trajo con su Aparición. El comité Guadalupano en nombre de la Virgen les agradece por todo su apoyo y tengan en cuenta que todo lo que por ella hagan, será bien recompensado. Que Dios los bendiga. Holiday Arts and Crafts Show

The Holiday Arts and Crafts Show is held annually on the second Saturday of November. You can find hand made arts and crafts, with a special emphasis on the upcoming holiday season.  Parish volunteers help with food sales, decorations and operations, welcoming crafters and visitors and the “Giving Tree.” Membership is open to parishioner volunteers of all ages leading up to and during the event. The group meets in October and November in preparation for the event, on the second Saturday of November, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the Guild Hall.

Men's Club

Men of the parish gather for their own enjoyment and to enhance the social life of the Parish for people of all ages, married, single and families. The group sponsors its Membership Dinner, Golf Outing and other events.

We sponsor a scholarship, named in honor of the late Nicholas J. Feller for his more than 40 years of service to the school and parish, to a graduate from our school who attends a Catholic high school. We often work with other parish groups to assist in their events or projects and supports parish equipment needs.

Membership is open to adult men of all ages. The group meets on the third Friday of the month. 7:30 to 11 p.m. in Lower Voss/Parish Center. Contact Bob Ross (773) 271– 4525 for more information.

CLUB DE HOMBRES
Hombres de la parroquia que se reúnen para su propio entretenimiento y para mejorar la vida social de la gente de todas las edades de la parroquia, casados, solteros y familias. Son auspiciadores de su propia Comida de Miembros, el Pasadía de Golf y otros eventos, una beca para un estudiante graduado de nuestra escuela que estudie en una escuela católica, a menudo trabaja en conjunto con otros grupos parroquiales para asistir en proyectos, eventos y también apoya las necesidades del mobiliario/equipo de la parroquia.

TEE OFF AT GOLF OUTING

The Queen of Angels 16th Annual Golf Outing on Saturday, September 25 is sponsored by the Men’s Club and is open to all parishioners at the Tam Country Club, Niles. Dinner will follow at the Voss Center.

Golf Tee Times from 1:30 to 3:46 - 9 holes (Scramble format).
Voss Center doors open 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
Golf, catered dinner and CASH bar, $40.00; seniors 62 and over or young adults 18 and under, $38.00; golf only - all ages, $25.00; dinner only, $20.00; seniors and young adults, $15.00.

Golf outing consists of nine holes of golf (Scramble/Best Ball format), with prizes awarded at the dinner. Dinner will be catered, with a cash bar. No prior golf experience necessary. The outing is open to all parishioners, family and friends. Tee times are limited to 72 golfers on a first come/first serve basis. Full payment is due no later than the September 16 Men’s Club meeting night.

All proceeds from this event will be used for the Nicholas J. Feller Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to an eighth grade student of Queen of Angels Grade School who will pursue high school studies at a Catholic high school.
