Welcome to the Public Beta of the Queen of Angels Parish Website

You may have noticed that you didn't need a username and password to access the site. We decided to make this beta available in a "soft launch" in order to make it easier for review. Also, there was an error in the date of the Parish website training-- the date is Sunday, March 28, at 2 PM in the school computer lab. We've got more work to do before we launch, but the structure and much of the content is complete. Here are some highlights:

--The site is based on a weblog content management system that allows parish leaders to publish directly to the website without knowing HTML
--A good example of a subsite completely maintained by a parish ministry is the Peace & Justice Committee
--Links to the school website appear prominently on the parish site as we seek to continue the great enrollment trends there
--All content that appears in The Guide will also be published to the website. In most cases, the content will appear on the website days before The Guide is published on paper
--We're developing a quick "How To" section that answers the most commonly asked questions right off the bat, including simple things like "what time is Mass"? and "how do I get there?"
--Each page has direct links to every parish ministry (currently there are 64 of them)
--It's easy to publish in both English and Spanish
--There is lots of opportunity to create other mini-sites for parish collaboration--closed intranets for sharing ideas, links to other resources, and so on
--Welcome. Take a look at what's here and email the webmaster with any questions, comments, or requests
