REMEMBER A LOVED ONE Mass intentions may be offered in the name of friends or relatives, living or deceased, for those in need of extra prayers or in honor of a beloved saint. Dates special to loved ones, living and deceased, are great times to remember them in the prayers during Mass. Suggested donation is $10 per Mass. Call 773-539-7510.
HOSTS NEEDED The Parish Social following the 9:30 a.m. Mass needs people to help host these gatherings. Parish ministries and organizations of the parish are urged to help in this effort, since it’s a great way to thank parishioners for their support of your ministry and to meet and recruit new members. Contact Walter Rucker at walt501@juno.com, or call 773-539-7510. Gather in the Lower Church and visit with friends while having a light snack.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION FRIDAYS Every Friday, the Blessed Sacrament is placed out for veneration and prayer from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. To reach the Adoration Chapel, enter the church through the Claremont door, walk up the stairs, turn to the left and then to the left again. Walk down the passage behind the altar and enter the former baptistery where the Eucharist is exposed for veneration. Help us keep vigil with the Lord by making time on Fridays for these moments of resting in the divine presence.
MEN’S CLUB THURSDAY HOOPS Men of the parish are invited to the weekly session of Men’s Club Hoops at 9 p.m. Thursdays in the Guild Hall Gym. Join a bunch of 20-, 30-, 40– and 50-year-olds to run up and down the court and sometimes make a basket. Concessions follow the games. Donation is $10 plus an annual Men’s Club membership of $20. A liability waiver must be signed. Men’s Club also sponsors an “old-timers” game for folks over 35. Men’s Club meets at 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the Voss Center. Join us for pizza and beer. There is a $5 donation per meeting. Other Men’s Club events include Family Gym Nights, an annual Golf Outing and a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament. The Men’s Club supports high school scholarships and other parish and school needs.
CUB SCOUTS GO GREEN Cub Scout Pack 3894 has made a real effort to go green with its special events, campouts and meetings. You can help by donating gently used silverware to the pack. Last year, blue and gold tablecloths were purchased in an effort to avoid buying plastic ones year after year. For just $10, you can sponsor a tablecloth. In appreciation, your family name will be embroidered on the cloth as a thank you for your contribution. Willing to sponsor a tablecloth? Bring your donation to the Parish Center or give to a Cub Scout leader.
PLEASE COLLECT THOSE BOXTOPS! Each Box Tops coupon is worth a dime to Queen of Angels students. Last year, our school earned more than $300 for our school library and classrooms through this program. Please clip Box Tops coupons from products including Cheerios®, Betty Crocker®, Pillsbury®, Juicy Juice®, Kleenex® and more. Drop coupons in boxes outside the school office or at the back of church.
