This week, you are asked to review the Annual Catholic Appeal brochure that you will receive with your bulletin. The theme of the campaign is: "...they left everything and followed Him” (Luke 5:11).

Let’s start our second century with a vision for Queen of Angels and the resources to make that vision a reality. You, the people of Queen of Angels, are our greatest resource. Please be generous in the 2010 Annual Catholic Appeal.

The Apostles gave up everything to follow Jesus. You are not asked to do the same. Rather, you are asked to spend some time this week reflecting on the Annual Catholic Appeal. While funding a number of Archdiocesan ministries, the Annual Catholic Appeal is also the largest philanthropic source of financial support for ALL of the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese.

Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal campaign is much different than a one time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift, payable over five months.

As you review the work enabled by your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. Your gifts to our parish, to the Archdiocese and to the work of the Church throughout the world are given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you.

Sometimes it is difficult to envision how one pledge can help an organization the size of our Archdiocese — how it can make a real difference. But each pledge does make a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services. Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they fund a significant portion of the work of our Archdiocese.

If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend. For those of you that did not receive a mailing or have not had time to respond to it, we will conduct our in-pew pledge process at all Masses next weekend, February 6-7. Thank you!

Esta semana se le pedirá a usted que lea el folleto de la Campaña Católica Anual que recibirá junto con el boletín. El tema de la Campaña es: “...abandonaron todo y lo siguieron” (Lucas 5:11).

(clic derecho, "Save Target As...")Por favor comprométase para donar a la Campaña Católica Anual Para Reducir Deudas. Cada dólar que recaudemos será igualado por la arquidiócesis. Comencemos nuestro segundo siglo con una visión para Reina de los Ángeles y los recursos para hacer esa visión una realidad. Ustedes, la gente de Reina de los Ángeles, son nuestro recurso más grande. Por favor sea generoso en la 2010 Campaña Católica Anual.

Los Apóstoles abandonaron todo para seguir a Jesús. A usted no se le pide hacer lo mismo. Más bien, se le pide que esta semana use algo de su tiempo para reflexionar sobre la Campaña Católica Anual. La cual financia un número importante de ministerios arquidiocesanos y es también la fuente filantrópica más grande de apoyo financiero para TODAS las escuelas católicas de la Arquidiócesis.

Por favor recuerde que la Campaña Católica Anual es muy diferente a una colecta especial que se realiza una sola vez. Se trata más bien de una campaña de promesas de donativos en la que usted puede hacer un donativo pagadero a cinco meses.

Mientras revisa la lista de trabajos que son posibles gracias a su aportación a la Campaña Católica Anual, reflexione en las bendiciones que ha recibido del Señor. Él le ha dado todo lo que usted tiene. Realice su donativo para nuestra parroquia, la Arquidiócesis y las actividades de la Iglesia en todo el mundo en agradecimiento por todos los dones que Dios le ha dado.

En ocasiones es difícil imaginar cómo puede ayudar su donativo a una organización del tamaño de nuestra Arquidiócesis — cómo puede marcar una diferencia. Sin embargo cada donativo marca una diferencia, porque todas las parroquias participan en la Campaña y las aportaciones de muchos permiten que la Arquidiócesis ofrezca los ministerios y servicios necesarios. La suma de los donativos no sólo representa nuestra gratitud a Dios, con ellos se financia una parte significativa de las actividades de la Arquidiócesis.

Si usted recibió por correo la forma para realizar su promesa de donativo, por favor llénela y envíela de regreso o tráigala a misa el siguiente fin de semana. Para aquellos que no recibieron esta información por correo o no han tenido tiempo de contestarla, hemos diseñado un proceso de promesa de donativos en las bancas que se llevará a cabo en todas las misas del siguiente fin de semana, 6 y 7 de febrero. ¡Gracias!
