VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPRED There is an urgent need for more volunteer catechists. We have two young gentlemen in our Thursday group who are presently without partners. One to one relationships are an essential aspect of the Spred program. There continues to be a need for more catechists for our Wednesday group as well so they may welcome more friends.
Please consider this important invitation. There are no challenging pre-requisites for being a Spred catechist. The Spred experience is like no other. We urge you to come and learn more. You may stop by my office and enjoy a simple orientation and a tour. You may register to observe a Spred session or you may just come and join one of our communities for a session to see how you like it. We meet either on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please, consider this opportunity and give it some prayer. You have my assurance that you will be warmly welcomed. May God shower you all with abundant blessings during this Lenten Season.

ENHANCE YOUR LENTEN PRAYER Join us at 6:30 p.m. each Friday in Lent (7:30 p.m. in Spanish) for the traditional meditation of the Stations of the Cross, followed by a short Benediction Service with the Blessed Sacrament. Both are ancient Catholic prayer forms which offer a unique opportunity to make Lent a more prayerful experience.
COMEDY NIGHT IS MAY 2 Are you funny? Do people tell you you're funny? Maybe they're kidding. But then again, maybe they're not. If you know how to tell a joke, write a sketch or do impressions, perhaps you'd like to be part of the sixth annual Queen of Angels Comedy Night. This terrific show benefits the School Technology Committee, and we're assembling another great group of stand-up comedians, writers and all-around loonies from right here in our community! If we don't know about you yet, maybe it's time we did, and maybe it's time to share your gift with the world, or at least our parish.
Comedy Night has been rescheduled for Friday, May 2. Contact Will Casey at 312-344-8623 or wcasey@colum.edu if you want to be a part of the mayhem!

To date almost 90 percent of parishes contributed to this year's collection. Queen of Angels is part of this remarkable generosity, having contributed $2,158.14. Thank you for sending your contribution promptly. Through your donations you participate in projects working with issues of affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, economic development and the improvement of life for the elderly, immigrants and disabled in Cook and Lake counties.
I extend my personal prayers of gratitude to each of you for the attention you give to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development through the collection and the ongoing transformative education about bringing justice to the poor. MAINTAIN TIES TO SCHOOL HISTORY Are you a graduate of Queen of Angels School? Do you have wonderful memories from your elementary years that you want to help maintain and continue? If so, would you like to help the school expand its alumni relations efforts to better serve its alumni community?
As our parish and school approaches its centennial celebration, it is more important than ever to build and maintain good relationships with the hundreds of men and women who graduated from Queen of Angels. Their memories and connections to the school are as important to the future of our school as it is to the past. We would like to do more to cherish, nurture and document our wonderful history through the involvement of more Queen of Angels alumni.
Alumni relations activities may include helping plan reunions and alumni masses, gathering and updating alumni information, finding "lost" alumni, and helping with student/alumni activities. Your time commitment can be as much as you are interested in giving and can be on your own time and schedule. To volunteer, and for questions or suggestions, please contact the school at 773-769-4211 or e-mail alumni@queenofangelschicago.org.
